A singer-songwriter based in Chicago, IL, Marycate Hines, originally from Glen Ellyn, IL, spent her younger years traveling between suburb and city, attempting to soak up as much of the urban world as she could.
She learned to fall in love with music by the help of her father, a classically trained finger-style guitarist who introduced her to the classic rock stylings of The Beatles, Cream, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, and more. She trained in several instruments at an early age, including piano, violin, flute, and guitar.
She began training in vocal technique at thirteen years old–a field of study which she continued into her college years, graduating from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2013.
Guitar in hand, Marycate performs locally playing acoustic-driven pop music laced with folk inspired rhythm and melody, riddled with deeply rooted lyrics and phrase, displaying themes of love and life, heartbreak and triumph, and the fascination of both the urban and natural world and the personalities who occupy it.
Show starts at 6pm. No cover. No reservations.
