As a performer, Mike Maimone leaves it all on the stage. Sean Moeller of Daytrotter said he “goes from a tame resting heart rate, living beneath a harvest moon, to pure adrenaline — instantaneously. He goes from zero to a hundred quicker than most.”
Maimone has averaged over 100 tour dates each year since 2007 as a solo artist, with his band Mutts, and as keyboardist for other acts. 

COLLAB/CORRUPT is a free live music throwdown between songwriting travelers, thieves and free-thinkers. It’s a sometimes-rehearsed, mostly-improvised, one-night-only human experience that happens every Friday evening (tour schedule permitting) at High-Hat Club. Voted Chicago’s #1 Malort Bar. Mike kicks it off on piano with some songs – originals, covers, Mutts favorites, hip-hop tracks in the style of Dr. John. Stuff.
Then some other songwriters let him play their songs with them. Sometimes Mike makes them play some of his. And if we know any of the same cover songs we’ll try a few of those, too.

Tunes go from 6 until 8. With this spontaneous session as the foundation for your Friday night, there’s no telling what shenanigans of your own you’ll be inspired to partake in.
Mark the calendar for Friday evenings. It’s two hours of terrific tunes, special guest spontaneity, with delicious dinner and beverages available all night. And it’s stumbling distance from public transit. It’s Fridays at High-Hat Club.
